Sydney, 30 April, 2023. The solidarity event "A Toast to Cuba on May Day" was held today in Sydney. The activity was attended by the Cuban Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia and other members of the Cuban mission accredited to that country.
The event took place at the headquarters of the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA), where a large group of members of the Australian Association of Solidarity with Cuba gathered to demand the end of the U.S. blockade against the island and the exclusion of Cuba from the List of Sponsors of Terrorism.
In the emotional act, the Cuban Ambassador, on behalf of the Cuban people, expressed her gratitude for the 40 years of continuous solidarity of the Australian movement with Cuba and for the support of its members to the Cuban Revolution.
