The "City of Dreams Mediterraneo" Hotel in Limasol hosted on
Saturday night, December 2, the worldwide launch of 3 new Habanos
vitolas, in an impressive Gala organized by Habanos S.A. and
Phoenicia T.A.A. (Cyprus) Ltd, Exclusive Distributor of Habanos, S.A.
for the Middle East, Africa and some European countries.
The majestic gala brought together some 450 guests including local
aficionados and enthusiasts from all over the world, such as Lebanon,
UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Malta, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, UK, DRC,
Switzerland, Netherlands, Kuwait, Bulgaria, Canada, Bahrain and
beyond.
After a powerful opening show by the Hanine Band, Mr. Mohamed
Zeidan delivered a welcome speech in which he also commemorated
the 15th anniversary of the long-standing partnership between
Habanos and Phoenicia.
The two co-presidents of Habanos S.A., Ms. Maritza Carillo Cruz and
Mr. Luis Sanchez Harguindey, exclusively presented "El Rey Del
Mundo Royal Series" (Doubles, 50 ring x 155 mm), dedicated to the La
Casa Del Habano concept and franchise.
After several surprises, Mr. Jorge Fernandez, Promocigar's Marketing
Director, took the stage to launch the international Cohiba Wide Short
(31.5 ring gauge x 100 mm in length), sharing the history and process
of this new vitola.
Por La Larrañaga Fénix Edición Regional (109, 50 rings x 184 mm in
length) was the star of the evening. Mr. Walid Saleh, CEO of Phoenicia
Cyprus, made the world presentation of this unique tobacco, while
recognizing the Cuban people for keeping tradition, quality and history
alive through their knowledge and in particular with this tobacco.
For his part, the Cuban Ambassador shared with each and every one
of those present and thanked them for their constant support to Cuba
and its famous Habanos. He greeted Mr. Zeidan and Mr. Wallid, as
well as exchanged extensively with the two co-presidents of Habanos
S.A., Mrs. Maritza Carillo Cruz and Mr. Luis Sánchez Harguindey
(EmbaCuba Cyprus).
