On the afternoon of 19 December, the Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Mr. Angel Gustavo Suárez Cordero participated in the programme "Las Noticias De Otra Manera" of Radio Astra, hosted by the journalist Neophytos Neophyto.
For 30 minutes the Ambassador was answering questions and stories from the listeners, and was able to exchange on the effects of the blockade on Cuba, the challenges for the Caribbean island during the pandemic, the results of the Cuban biotechnology and some information on the places to visit in Cuba and tourism in general. The Cuban diplomat also thanked all listeners for the solidarity of the Cypriot people.
The programme also featured the Cuban singer resident in Cyprus, Pedro "Son Caliente", who brought a little piece of Cuban sonority to this Mediterranean island, performing internationally known songs such as the boleros "Dos Gardenias" and "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás" and to finish the good Cuban son with "Idilio". Pedro also spoke about the customs and traditions in Cuba.
The Ambassador, in saying goodbye to the programme, thanked the radio listeners and promised to return to talk more about Cuba and its challenges.
