Cuban ambassador pays official visit to the State of Western Australia

Perth, 25 July 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Australia, Tanieris Diéguez, carried out an extensive program of activities as part of her official visit to the State of Western Australia.

The ambassador met with the governor of the State;  the mayor of the city; the Minister of Justice; the president of the Legislative Council; the speaker of the Legislative Assembly; the head of the Engineering Laboratory of the Harry Perkins Medical Research Institute; Senator Fatima Payman; the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Forestry and Small Business; representatives from the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation; executives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Perth; etc.

She also visited the Biotechnology Agriculture Centre; Murdoch University and the Solidarity Park.

Likewise, she had the opportunity to exchange with Cubans living in Perth; members of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society, the Communist Party of Australia, and the Construction, Forestry, and Maritime Union.

The visit was propitious to continue strengthening bilateral ties between Cuba and Australia.
