Tehran, January 26, 2025. Cuban Ambassador Jorge Lefebre Nicolás was received this Sunday at the headquarters of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian unicameral parliament) by the deputy and president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba (GPA), Jalil Mokhtar, to address issues of bilateral interest.
The Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission conveyed a message of gratitude from the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba about the historic position of Iranian legislators in support of the Caribbean island and for its pronouncements against the Blockade and other hostile actions by the U.S. Government.
For his part, Iranian MP Khalil Mokhtar recognized the historic position of Cuba in the search for a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as the repeated calls of the Cuban government for the cessation of recent Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon. Also present at the meeting were MP and first vice-president of the GPA Elham Azad and Iranian Foreign Ministry official Parviz Mansoori.
