The Cuban Ambassador in St. Vincent and the Grenadines made an official visit to the headquarters of the Searchlight newspaper in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Director of the newspaper, Claire Keizer, expressed her condolences for the human and material losses caused by Hurricane Irma as it passed through Cuba.
The Cuban diplomat, on the other hand, offered up-to-date information on the recovery process, the determined participation of the population and state institutions in these tasks, as well as the encouraging results of the heroic joint work of a nation, determined to recover from the blow of adversity and continue their development plans.
During the meeting the parties addressed the persistence of the US blockade against Cuba and the decision, announced by President Donald Trump, to maintain it, defying the will of the international community.
The Ambassador referred to the manipulation of the human rights situation in Cuba and the deliberate omission by the mass media of the successes of the largest island of the Greater Antilles, in many areas of human and social development, widely recognized by international agencies and specialized UN institutions.
Issues relating to peace and nuclear disarmament were also on the agenda.
