Soweto, 06 October 2026. — The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, appeared as a guest on the Ubuntu Beyond Borders podcast, where he provided a detailed explanation of the policy of aggression pursued by the United States against Cuba.
During the discussion, the Ambassador condemned the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, which affects all sectors of Cuban society and constitutes the main obstacle to the country’s development. He also highlighted the steadfastness, creativity and determination of the Cuban people to resist, defend their achievements and continue building their future.
Rodríguez Pinelo also referred to the forthcoming vote in the United Nations General Assembly on the resolution “The necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”, and emphasised that this constitutes a just cause repeatedly supported by the international community.
Cuba is not a threat; the blockade is.
