Cuban Ambassador to South Africa presents his credentials.

Pretoria, 8 April 2026 – At a formal ceremony held at the South African Government’s headquarters, the Cuban Ambassador, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, presented the President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, with his Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the African nation.  

In a brief exchange with the President, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the historic and fraternal relations between the peoples and governments of both countries. For his part, the South African President expressed his support for Cuba in the current difficult circumstances.

Both sides agreed on the importance of deepening ties between Havana and Pretoria.
