Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom presents Letters of Credence to HM King Charles III.

London, 14 June 2024- On the afternoon of June 12, the Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ismara M. Vargas Walter, presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.

During the cordial exchange, both sides agreed on the good state of bilateral relations. They also recalled the official visit of Their Majesties to Cuba in 2019 and exchanged on the opportunities for political dialogue and cooperation between the two countries based on the bilateral Agreement signed on 22 November 2023.

On the British side, Sir Philip Robert Barton KCMG OBE, Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, was present.

The Cuban diplomat was accompanied by Arístides Hechavarría, Press Counsellor; Marta Castillo, Economic Counsellor; Ivian Alfonso, Counsellor (Consul) and Aymée Díaz, Second Secretary for Political Affairs.

Cuba and the United Kingdom have maintained uninterrupted diplomatic relations since 20 May 1902.
