Havana, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban and Belizean Prime Minsters Manuel Marrero and John Antonio Briceño, respectively, expressed on Friday their interest in expanding cooperation between the two countries, the Presidency informed.
The Belizean minister met with his Cuban counterpart on Friday, during his official visit to Cuba.
The Presidency tweeted that “both leaders ratified the interest in developing cooperation in areas of common interest, as well as economic and commercial ties.”
During the meeting, Briceño assured that Cuba will have the support of his country in the international arena, to demand “the end of the illegal embargo (blockade) that the United States has against Cuba and its people.”
For his part, Marrero pointed out that the ties of collaboration and friendship between the peoples of both nations are very solid.
On Wednesday, Cuba and Belize signed three legal instruments to strengthen bilateral relations in health care, culture and the fight against climate change.
Briceño, who will end his visit to Cuba on Saturday, held official talks with President Miguel Diaz-Canel, at which both leaders ratified the intention to strengthen cooperation.
