On January 17, 2018, a technical meeting was held in Washington D.C. between the Cuban and US authorities responsible for preventing and fighting terrorism, aimed at advancing cooperation in this area.
This meeting falls within the context of law enforcement dialogue that both countries established in November 2015.
The Cuban delegation was composed of representatives of the ministries of the Interior and Foreign Affairs, while the US delegation was composed of officials of the departments of Homeland Security, Justice and State.
The delegations of both countries shared the view on the importance of cooperation in this area and agreed to continue these technical meetings in the future.
The meeting was held in an ambiance of respect and professionalism.
