(Doha, October 8) The Katara Cultural Village Foundation, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Doha, inaugurated the art exhibition "From Cuba to Qatar: Horses, Fibers, and Memories" by Cuban artist Yosvany Martínez on October 7. The exhibition will be open to the public until October 20.

The opening ceremony was attended by Katara's Director General, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti; the Cuban Ambassador, Enrique Enríquez; members of the diplomatic corps; Qatari cultural figures, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other sectors, as well as representatives of Cubans residing in Qatar and healthcare professionals working in this Arab country.

The exhibition includes 30 works in which the artist employed different techniques, including natural fibers and papier-mâché. The pieces are distinguished by their artistic uniqueness and the use of organic materials such as the stems of the "Espartillo Macho" plant.

In his opening remarks, the Cuban ambassador thanked Katara for its cooperation, stating that this exhibition invites us to transcend geographical borders and explores the richness of the cultural ties that unite our peoples, where once again, culture and traditions contribute to the development of friendly relations between both countries.

This important cultural event has received extensive coverage in the main print and national television media, which highlighted the excellent cultural ties between Cuba and Qatar, and the fruitful cooperation between Katara and Cuban institutions.
