Cuban Chargé d'Affaires participates in NAIDOC Week 2025 celebrations

Canberra, 9 July 2025 - The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy in Australia, Ivianes Gonzalez, participated in the smoke ceremony and official reception organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Canberra, as part of NAIDOC Week 2025, dedicated to celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The smoke ceremony, a traditional ritual of welcome to the country, was followed by a reception that brought together members of the diplomatic corps, Australian authorities and representatives of indigenous communities.

The event included artistic performances highlighting the vibrancy of Australia's indigenous culture.
