Cuban Consular Office in the U.S. returned to face-to-face services.

The Consular Office of Cuba in the United States today returned to its face-to-face services, interrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic, although the usual channels are maintained through postal mail and contracted agencies.

It is very good that we have already returned to normality, Vice Consul Tatiana Martinez told Prensa Latina while welcoming the resumption of services "that will allow speeding up procedures, especially notarial ones".

Those who choose the face-to-face option - she commented - will save time and, in addition, it will mean another possibility of direct contact between Cuba and its nationals in the United States.

Martinez affirmed that the conditions are created for the attention of those who decide "to come to our headquarters from 9:00 to 12:00, local time, from Monday to Friday".

On March 11, 2020, the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announced that COVID-19, a new disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, could be characterized as a pandemic.

"WHO has been assessing this outbreak throughout the day and we are deeply concerned about both the alarming levels of spread and severity, and the alarming levels of inaction. We have therefore assessed that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic," he said at the time.
