Dublin, September, 2018. Executives of the Irish Exporters Association welcomed the members of the Cuban delegation composed of officials of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, and of the National Office of Statistics and Information in the final phase of their work visit to Ireland, destined to the exchange of experiences in the activity of the foreign trade, its expansion and statistical registry of the exportation income to the national economy.
The Irish Exporters Association groups local companies whose production is destined to the export of goods and services. The Cuban experts had the opportunity to know the actions that this Association undertakes in the representation of the exporters before the governmental authorities and other interlocutors, as well as in the business interconnection, the investigations, the study of markets and the growth of the export activity.
The Cuban side also had the opportunity to update its counterpart on the efforts undertaken in Cuba to diversify and expand export activity. The possibilities of foreign investment in the island raised the interest of the Irish counterpart, in particular the conditions created in the Special Mariel Development Zone, due to the opportunities that it would provide for the export to the Cuban market and to other markets in the region.
Both Yamila Fernandez del Busto, General Director of Economy of the MINCEX, and Ambassador Hugo Rene Ramos Milanes highlighted that the objectives outlined had been satisfactorily fulfilled and underscored the profitable experiences that the Cuban delegation had the opportunity to share with their Irish counterparts in the various meetings held in the course of these three days of work and expressed deep appreciation to all executives of the various entities with which they had the opportunity to meet.
