Placencia, October 10, 2024.- Representatives of Cuba participated in the Regional Workshop for Caribbean Small Island Developing States on the Agreement for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ), which took place from October 7 to 10 in the southern Belizean city of Placencia.
At the event, M.S.c Teresa Cruz Sardiñas, from the Environment Directorate of CITMA, presented the experience of #Cuba in the process to become a State Party to the BBNJ Agreement.
The workshop addressed the fair and equitable distribution of marine resources, environmental impact assessments and the transfer of marine technologies, among others. (EmbacubaBelize).
