Cuban Doctor Participates in the XX World Congress of Pharmacology in Melbourne

Melbourne, Australia. July 15, 2026. Dr. Diadelis Remirez, Senior Researcher at the Cuban Medicines Regulatory Authority (CECMED) and member of the Board of Directors of the Cuban Society of Pharmacology, is participating this week in the XX World Congress of Pharmacology, being held from July 12 to 17 in Melbourne, Australia.

During the Congress, Dr. Remirez is participating in the General Assembly of Societies and presenting, both orally and as a poster, Cuba's progress in the regulatory framework for personalized medicine, traditional and integrative medicine, and the Integrated Clinical Trial Management System—tools that reflect the country's scientific and regulatory development in the field of public health.

Her participation in this prestigious international forum helps to highlight the contributions of Cuban science, strengthen ties with specialists from various regions, and share experiences on current challenges in pharmacology, health regulation, and medical technology assessment. It also reaffirms Cuba's commitment to scientific cooperation and academic exchange, even in a context marked by external constraints.

The Cuban Society of Pharmacology, part of the Council of Health Societies of the Ministry of Public Health, has been a member of the International Union of Pharmacology since 2005, which has allowed Cuba to actively participate in key global scientific exchange platforms.

Dr. Remirez's presence at the XX World Congress of Pharmacology is a recognition of the work of Cuban health professionals and the country's capacity to contribute relevant knowledge in high-level international forums.
