Pretoria, 7 July 2026. —The Cuban Ambassador received Collen Malatji, President of the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League, at the embassy; he was accompanied by members of the organization’s leadership.
During the meeting, the deep and enduring friendship between the peoples of Cuba and South Africa was highlighted. The South African youth delegation reaffirmed its firm commitment to Cuba’s sovereignty and self-determination. Its president emphasized the commitment to continue instilling in South Africa’s younger generations the historic bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.
For his part, the Cuban Ambassador provided an update on the current situation in Cuba. He encouraged the continuation and deepening of this organization’s ties with its Cuban counterparts. Furthermore, he highlighted the revolutionary spirit and commitment of South African youth.
As part of this visit, the President of the ANC Youth League and its Vice-President, Zusiphe Dyantyi, issued statements of support and solidarity with Cuba. These messages highlight the spirit of resistance of the Cuban people and condemn the deceitful and hostile US policy. Cuba thanks South Africa for its unwavering solidarity.
