Cuban Embassy in Iran begins activities for the Centenary of the Birth of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution

Tehran, August 13, 2025. The Cuban Embassy in Tehran received members of the Latin American diplomatic corps, Cuban residents, Iranian friends and members of Cuba friendship associations, and journalists at its headquarters to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. With this activity, the diplomatic mission began the Centennial of the Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, which will take place between August 2025 and December 2026.

Ambassador Jorge Lefebre Nicolás presented videos on various facets of the Commander-in-Chief, which highlighted various positions assumed by Fidel in foreign policy, associated with Cuba's relationship with the African continent, support for the Palestinian cause, denunciation of the aggression that was being prepared by the US and Israel against Iran 16 years ago, as well as Fidel's leadership, political creativity and strategic thinking in being able to emerge victorious in the face of the hostility of 11 US presidents.

As part of this event, the young Iranian, Amin Mohammadi, presented the book he translated into Farsi, "634 Ways to Kill Fidel: Plans of the CIA and the Mafia," written by General Fabián Escalante Font, founder of the Cuban security services.

As part of the event, the Cuban ambassador presented the free scholarship certificate to the young Cuban-Iranian Guevara Babaahmadi Brito to study medicine in Cuba, in what is undoubtedly one of the most expressive acts of homage to the Commander in Chief, who was the architect of the Cuban Revolution's scholarship program.
