Durban, 07 November 2023 - The Third Secretary in charge of political affairs of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, Bryan Betancourt Brito, participated in the 10th National Congress of the Police and Prison Civil Rights Union (POPCRU), held in the city of Durban, province of Kwazulu Natal.
In his speech, the diplomat acknowledged the historic relations of POPCRU with the Cuban Workers' Union (CTC, in spanish) and the National Union of Civil Defence Workers (SNTCD, in spanish) and called for the strengthening of ties between the trade unions and peoples of both countries.
He also condemned the blockade, which for more than 60 years has caused suffering among the Cuban people, and thanked POPCRU for its support and solidarity in the struggle against this criminal policy.
