Cuban Embassy in South Africa holds quarterly meeting at DIRCO

Pretoria, May 14, 2024.- The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, was received by the Director of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean of the South Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Bingo Thamaga, in order to conduct a regular review of the main issues of bilateral interest.

During the cordial meeting, the excellent level of political relations was highlighted, as well as the need to continue expanding and diversifying cooperation in economic and trade matters. Both sides acknowledged the quality of bilateral ties, which have resulted in 30 years of fruitful relations between the two governments.

The celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, formalised by the leaders Fidel Castro and Nelson Mandela, was highlighted, as well as the series of activities to be developed in both countries to commemorate such an important milestone.
