Thohoyandou, October 14, 2023 - Invited by the provincial government of Limpopo, the Third Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, Bryan Betancourt Brito, participated in the celebrations for Tshivhase Day, which were attended by the South African and ANC Deputy President, Paul Mashatile.
In his speech, Brito recalled the life of Chief Frans Tshivhase, former head of the Tshivhase clan and also a great communist and revolutionary leader, who in his lifetime, opposed all forms of exploitation and land dispossession, which allowed local residents to keep their land for more than 15 years. He also highlighted that Cubans have African blood running through our veins and the Cuban and African cultures have a lot in common as a proof of our African heritage.
The Cuban official was accompanied by Lauren Luis Acosta, in charge of Press and Culture of the diplomatic mission.
