Pretoria, 21 June 2023 - The diplomatic attaché in charge of Press and Culture of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, Lauren Luis Acosta, received the visit of a large representation of the National Association of Writers of that country. The delegation was led by Dr Lance Nawa, Secretary General of this group and its president Molaodi Wa Sekake.
During the meeting, the possibility of strengthening exchanges with Cuban counterpart organisations was discussed at length and strategies for joint work in the coming months were drawn up.
A particularly significant moment was the artists' rejection of the discriminatory treatment received in France by Nancy Morejón, reiterating their full support for the Cuban poetess, whom they described as a comrade and sister.
Throughout the exchange, thanks to the Cuban people for their support and sacrifices during the struggles for the liberation of southern Africa prevailed.
