Cuban Foreign Minister Denounces New U.S. Measure Against Cuban Bank BICSA

Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, denounced a new measure by the United States government against Banco Internacional de Comercio S.A. (BICSA), which he described as another aggressive action aimed at suffocating the Cuban economy.

The foreign minister defended the legitimacy of the banking institution and its domestic and international operations, stating that it is “an absolutely legitimate bank, and its transactions in Cuba and around the world are also entirely legitimate.”

Bruno Rodríguez argued that the measure demonstrates Washington’s determination to intensify economic restrictions against the island and limit its ability to conduct financial transactions.

In his denunciation, he described U.S. policy as “collective punishment against the Cuban people” and warned of the intention to “close every valve” on the Cuban economy.
