Pretoria, 11 March 2025 - The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, laid a wreath at the Wall of Names, a monument in Freedom Park that pays tribute to the 2289 Cubans who fell in the struggle for the liberation of Africa. This tribute was made in the context of his working visit to the Republic of South Africa.
On the occasion, the Cuban Foreign Minister also met with representatives of the African National Congress (ANC), the South African Communist Party, the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), as well as with members of the South Africa-Cuba Friendship Association, Cuban collaborators, representatives of the diplomatic mission and Cuban residents.
During the exchanges, the historical ties between the two countries were highlighted and various national and international current issues were discussed.
