Punta Gorda, March 9, 2025.- The Cuban medical brigade Antonio Maceo, which provides its health services in the south of the country, gave continuity to the regional scientific conferences, which were dedicated to honoring Women of Science, an indispensable force in the potential developed by the Cuban Revolution in this important sphere of knowledge.
In the scientific conclave, the call for the V International Health Convention 2025 to be held in Cuba from April 21 to 25 was presented.
The day began with a keynote lecture given by Dr. Corine Lambey, a graduate of ELAM, who spoke about the epidemiological surveillance of Dengue in Punta Gorda.
5 works were presented in different modalities, linked to the care work of our staff in white coats in this region of the country.
The activity was chaired by Dr. Nilda Corría López, national coordinator of the BMC, DrDr. Luis Manet Lahera and Belizean health authorities and the participation of Cuban collaborators and their Belizean counterparts, who together carry out important work in the interest of the Belizean people.
Two works were awarded and two others received mentions recognizing their scientific and social value in the care work.
Conferences like these show the high scientific and professional level of our collaborators and extol the humanist and solidarity principle of the Cuban Revolution and its prestige in the world, while unmasking the campaigns against Cuban international medical collaboration sponsored by the government of the United States.
