Belize City, April 20, 2024.- The Cuban medical brigades José Martí, Celia Sanchez and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, belonging to the central health region, held their scientific day.
The activity was dedicated to honoring the 63rd anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón, the first great defeat of Yankee imperialism in America.
Two master conferences, presented by Belizean health authorities, along with 9 works in different exhibition modalities, were carried out jointly between Cubans and Belizeans, which made the conclave a space of science, professionalism and humanism based on the problems of most common health problems in the Belizean population.
Dr. Eduardo Pedroso Filiberto, a Cuban resident in Belize and former member of the medical brigade, who died in June 2023, who always had an outstanding participation in these events, was remembered with respect and admiration.
Diplomas and recognition incentives were awarded to the best works, which endorsed the technical and professional level of our white coat staff.
In her concluding words, the Cuban ambassador María Caridad Balaguer Labrada expressed her satisfaction with the quality of the exhibitions, the selection of the topics discussed and the link between Cubans and Belizeans, which results in greater benefit in the quality of health public of this brother town.
Present were Belizean health authorities from the central region, Consul Gustavo Aguinaga Linares, the national coordinator of the BMC Dr. María de
l Carmen Lozada Concepción and Cuban health collaborators along with their Belizean counterparts.
