Pretoria, April 23, 2019.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, thanked the international support for Cuba in response to the new sanctions against the Island announced by the United States government on April 17.
The sanctions, aimed at further strengthening the criminal and illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for 60 years, include the activation of Title III of Helms Burton, the incorporation of new Cuban companies to the list of entities prohibited for trade with the United States; as well as the application of more restrictions and prohibitions to travel to Cuba of US citizens and the reduction of family remittances.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, the Cuban Minister said:
"I appreciate expressions of international rejection and in the USA. to the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act. It is a violation of International Law, transgresses the rules of commerce and is an aggression against the sovereignty of Cuba and third States. USA increasingly isolated "
These measures constitute a new direct attack on Cuba and on the interests of the countries with which it has commercial relations. As a result, immediate statements in rejection and expressions of support were generated internationally.
