With an activity at the Cuban Embassy in Mongolia the few Cuban/Mongolian families honored Cuban Culture Day yesterday.
The Cuban Ambassador to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, highlighted that the Cuban Culture Day honors two transcendental events that marked the history of Cuba to this day.
He recalled that on October 10, 1868, Carlos Manuel, the Father of the Nation, freed his slaves and started the first war for independence. He highlighted that October 20 of that year marked the beginning of Cuban culture, when the National Anthem was sung for the first time in Bayamo, which reflects the commitment to the Homeland and the will to fight, sacrifice and independence of several generations of Cubans. .
The Cuban-Mongolian families shared and enjoyed Cuban music in the recordings of great exponents of Cuban culture such as Compay Segundo, Omara Portuondo, Rubén González, Pablo Milanés and Juan Formell and the Van Van.
