(Doha, May 2, 2025) – The Cuban Embassy in Qatar, in coordination with the Katara Cultural Foundation and within the framework of the Latin American and Caribbean Cultural Festival, organized a concert by the Cuban musical group 2 D'Cuba at the Drama Theater in Doha.
The event was attended by Maryam Al Saad, Director of International Affairs at Katara, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Doha, officials from various Cuban institutions, Cuban health professionals, members of the Cuban community, and the general public.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Enrique Enríquez emphasized that Cuba, with its rich and vibrant cultural heritage, with its history of resilience, creativity, and solidarity, makes our internationally recognized culture a bridge that connects Cubans with the world and a space where we can share our values, aspirations, and vision of a more just, equitable, and sustainable future.
The duo 2 D'Cuba, made up of the multifaceted and talented Cuban musicians Samantha Echevarría Vigo and Adrián Mcpherson Romero, delighted the audience with an extensive repertoire of Cuban music that included genres such as son, guaracha, mambo, boleros, and cha cha cha, among others, receiving extensive coverage from the Qatari media.
The concert showcased the richness of our musical heritage to Qataris and foreigners residing in this Arab country and concluded the Latin American and Caribbean Cultural Festival, which ran from April 26th and included exhibitions of painting, photography, crafts, cinematography, and music.
