Pretoria, June 29, 2026. —Embassy officials participated in the 5th congress of the Tshwane District of the South African Communist Party (SACP). The Cuban delegation delivered a message to the South African communists, while reaffirming its intention to continue strengthening party ties.
The congress focused on analyzing the problems facing the working class in that district. Karen Mendez, second secretary of the Embassy, highlighted the importance of intensifying the struggle for their rights. Similarly, reference was made to the significance of mobilizing the masses against their common enemy: imperialism.
The event was marked by a strong spirit of solidarity with just causes. The South African Communists reiterated their stance against domination and hegemony. They also emphasized their unwavering solidarity with Cuba.
