Pretoria, August 28, 2023.- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, ended today his tour in Africa, after concluding an official visit to Namibia. The Cuban Presidency informed on X, formerly Twitter, that the president was bid farewell in the capital Windhoek, by Hage Geingob, president of that African country.
Díaz-Canel's stay in Namibia strengthened the brotherhood between both of our peoples on the basis of mutual admiration, solidarity and new opportunities for cooperation.
Hours before leaving, the President met with collaborators working in Namibia, including doctors, engineers, architects, who integrate a brigade of just over a hundred nationals.
The Caribbean head of state shared life stories, anecdotes and emotions with Cubans living in the African nation and friends of solidarity, most of them trained in Cuba.
The Cuban delegation began its tour of Africa last August 19 in Angola, and its work agenda included the countries of Mozambique and Namibia. The President also participated in the Dialogues of the XV BRICS Summit, to which Cuba was invited as Chair of the Group of 77 and China, in South Africa.
