Pretoria, August 20, 2023.- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, accompanied by a large delegation, will visit Africa in the coming hours, to make official visits to Angola, Mozambique and Namibia; and to participate in the BRICS Summit to be held in this venue.
"For the first time Cuba will participate in a BRICS Summit. We do so also in our capacity as president of the Group of 77 and China. We will advocate for enhancing effective coordination between both mechanisms of coordination to defend the claims of the global south," the president shared through his Twitter account.
The countries he will visit, among them South Africa, were described by the president as "sister nations to which we are united by a history marked by solidarity at all costs."
