Cuban President pays tribute to Nelson Mandela

Pretoria, August 23, 2023 - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on a visit to South Africa, paid tribute to Nelson Mandela, a dear friend of Cuba and of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.

The president laid a wreath on behalf of the Cuban people in front of the 9-meter statue made in his honor at the Union Buildings, headquarters of the South African government.

Together with the delegation accompanying him on his visit to this country, the president honored the legacy of the African and world leader.
