Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel sent a message to the second high-level meeting of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, which is being held in China, the Cuban Foreign Ministry informed today.
At the opening of the event, a video message from the President was presented, in which he calls for promoting development as the central axis of the system of international relations, to coordinate efficient cooperation to reduce inequality gaps and to advance in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
According to the Foreign Ministry, this meeting, and in particular the Global Development Initiative, represents for Cuba a valuable space for the promotion of exchange and cooperation on a global scale.
The Caribbean nation's delegation attending the event is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia, who will also complete a bilateral program that includes meetings with authorities of the Asian giant.
This year's edition of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development brings together high-level representatives of more than 50 nations and international organizations.
The main activities include five parallel sub-forums on the eight key areas of cooperation of the Global Development Initiative.
