Santiago de Cuba, 29 July, 2023. Edelmira Palacios, a Cuban resident in Australia, praised the solidarity activities that took place as part of the National Consultation of the territorial representations of the Friendship Association between the two countries.
By e-mail, the activist of these fraternal ties referred to the meeting held at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Melbourne, with the presence of Tanieris Diéguez, Cuban ambassador to Australia, who explained details of the Code of Families.
She also referred to the explanations given by MsC. Mariannis Díaz about the research carried out in relation to cancer treatments and for obtaining vaccines against Covid-19, mainly those related to pediatric ages, especially for children under two years old.
According to Palacios, other topics dealt with the work of the Southern Cross Brigade in favor of the Cuban Revolution and the performance of Cuban pedagogues in the application of the Yo sí puedo method to teach Australian aborigines.
The Australian militants of the fraternity will continue the analysis of their work in the "island continent", which for three decades have put their love and unconditional support to the archipelago into practice. Their fraternal work is also expressed in the collection of funds for diverse projects.
For 17 years she wrote, musicalized, directed and produced Arte y folclor, a historical-anthropological program in which she interviewed researchers, writers and artists from Cuba and the rest of the world.
From Australia she has maintained ties with her homeland and for that purpose she created a radio program in Spanish, in addition to contributing as a member of the board of directors of the Friendship Association of that nation with her own.
