Cuban Vice-president Inés Chapman meets with former President of South Africa Thabo Mbeki

Pretoria, September 13, 2019.- Vice-president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba Inés María Chapman Waugh, in her trip to Zimbabwe at the head of the Cuban delegation to the funeral of Robert Mugabe, exchanged salutations with South Africa’s former President Thabo Mbeki.

Thabo Mbeki, who held the South African presidency from 1999 to 2008, also traveled to Zimbabwe to take part in the funerals of former President Mugabe.

Mbeki currently chairs the Foundation that bears his name, which is aimed at contributing to the mobilization of progressive forces in Africa to promote efforts for the political, social, economic and cultural development of the continent.
