For the Trump administration, it has not been enough to impose more than 240 coercive actions to tighten the illegal and inhumane blockade against Cuba in its four years in office, particularly tightened during the pandemic. Just days before leaving the White House, the U.S. State Department included Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism pursuing the same goal: another legal ploy to economically suffocate the people of Cuba.
Martin Luther King was not wrong when he said that “the United States is the largest exporter of violence in the world”. Cuba has been the target of its mercenary misdeeds, leaving thousands of Cuban victims as a result of terrorist acts within and outside our territory since 1959. One of the most shameful cases was that of Posada Carriles who was responsible for the bombing of the Cubana de Aviación plane flying to Havana with the team of young Cuban athletes and other passengers in 1976. This terrorist, from his residence in the United States, freely celebrated such a crime in his eagerness to overthrow the Cuban Revolution. All these terrorist acts against the people of Cuba have been organized, financed and executed from the territory of the United States.
During the month of December 2020, Cuba repeatedly denounced numerous actions related to Cuban extremists living on US soil, who incite Cuban youth through social media to commit violent acts inside Cuba. With impunity, these individuals published on Facebook and Youtube money prizes for those who committed terrorist and subversive acts in Cuba.
Cuba should be included in a list of countries that sponsor the right to life, to health. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Cuba has not only been able to protect its population from the coronavirus but also collaborates by sending thousands of Cuban doctors to dozens of countries around the world, inspired by the solidarity and legacy of our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.
Cubanos en UK repudiates the constant aggressions towards our country and demands that the US government ends its blockade and hostilities against Cuba.
