The Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cubans living in Toronto and Canadian associations filled a container with medical supplies for the island, an initiative framed today in the campaign of the Europe for Cuba channel "World Tsunami against the blockade".
The channel released on social networks a video-message made the day before, after the end of the solidarity work, in which the organizations Not Just Tourist and the Cuba-Canada Friendship Association participated.
We dedicate this container to the tsunami against the blockade exercised by the United States on the Cuban family, said the president of the association of Cubans living in Toronto Juan Gualberto Gómez, Julio Fonseca, accompanied by other participants in the filling.
Fonseca highlighted the Europe for Cuba initiative launched last week, with the objective of carrying out actions that go from one country to another and from one continent to another against the economic, commercial and financial siege imposed by Washington on the Antillean nation for more than six decades.
We give continuity with the container to this wave that travels around the world, down with the blockade, long live free Cuba, he stressed.
Speaking to Prensa Latina about the campaign, the coordinators of Europe for Cuba, José Antonio Toledo, Haydeline Díaz and Patricia Pérez, said that the "tsunami" will reach different parts of the planet during April and May.
The associations, personalities and individuals who join in will develop from street actions to communiqués and denunciations on social networks against the unjust and criminal blockade applied to Cuba, they explained.
In that sense, they said that each organization is responsible for preparing its activity, depending on its characteristics and possibilities, always with the intention of achieving a worldwide reaction against the U.S. siege, which will go through America, Africa, Europe and Asia.
