Cubans residing in Belize celebrate a national meeting.

Belmopan, December 18, 2022.- A representation of Cubans residing in Belize met at the Cuban embassy in this sister Caribbean nation to hold their national meeting.

After singing the notes of the national anthem, a greeting to the event was received from the Directorate of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Resident Abroad in the voice of Laura Pujol, deputy director general, in which she called to make this meeting a new exhibition of support for our country and reaffirmed the importance of the nation's permanent link with its emigration.

The attendees received a detailed explanation by Ambassador María Caridad Balaguer Labrada about the effects imposed by the US blockade on the Cuban family and the serious consequences it means for the socio-economic development of our country.

Consul Gustavo Aguinaga Linares explained aspects related to consular procedures, the current situation of the migratory flow, especially through the Central American area, and the possibilities for Cuban residents to participate in investment projects in our country. Interesting interventions were made by Cuban residents related to the issues discussed, concerns were raised and support and attachment to our Homeland was ratified.

For her part, Dr. María del Carmen Lozada Concepción, national coordinator of the BMC invited to the event, explained to those present the work of our health collaborators in the country, which recently celebrated its 32nd anniversary, as well as the benefits offered by Cuban medical services.

To close the meeting, the Cuban residents approved an action plan and a final declaration. As is characteristic when Cubans gather as a family, they enjoyed our rich typical food and excellent music, making this meeting a new demonstration of love and support for our beloved Homeland.
