Cuba's Ambassador to Australia discusses the application of the "Yo si puedo" program in aboriginal communities in the country.

Canberra, August 7, 2023. Cuban Ambassador holds an exchange with Jack Beetson, executive director of "Literacy for Life Foundation".  During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of expanding collaboration in education between Cuba and Australia, based on the positive experience and results obtained in the application of the "Yo si puedo" method.

The Australian professor explained to the Ambassador the positive impact that the program had had in its application in the Australian aboriginal communities, as well as the human quality and the sensitivity of the Cuban collaborators participating in it. At the same time, he thanked Cuba for its support and commitment to the literacy of the aboriginal peoples in various countries around the world.

The Cuban diplomat took the opportunity to thank the Literacy for Life Foundation for its support and confidence in the application of the Cuban teaching method and for the sustained relations with Cuba for more than a decade, while highlighting Cuba's willingness to continue strengthening educational ties with Australia, particularly with the Aboriginal population.
