Mrs. Claire Keizer, Director of the National Vincentian Newspaper “Searchlight" was received by the Ambassador of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino at her headquarters, where they held a working meeting.
The Cuban diplomat presented the experienced journalist with a copy of the Cuba Report to the III Universal Periodic Review of the Human Rights Council, as well as other documents that illustrate Cuba's commitment to human rights, nationally and internationally.
During the conversation, the parties referred to Cuba's contribution to the Human Rights Council, of which it is a founding member and on which it is serving its fourth consecutive term.
The parties discussed the preparations for the forthcoming opening of the CDI in Georgetown in second city of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The donation by Cuba of a considerable part of the equipment, as well as the presence of 22 Cuban health professionals, is a new demonstration of the humanitarian vocation of the Cuban Revolution and of its firm will to help the brotherly peoples of the Caribbean, despite the limitations imposed by the US blockade. Cuba’s commitment to human rights is firm, not only within the country, but also within the framework of its international relations, the parties concluded.
