Cuba's digital vaccination certificate available

In order to have a digital certificate of vaccination COVID-19 with the required security, a computer system was developed with the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) to obtain the "Digital Certificate of Vaccination of the Republic of Cuba", by means of which any person who has been vaccinated in the national territory can access the information by generating his digital certificate.

This document does not replace the official vaccination card (model 84-21-02a), it will constitute one more option to carry the certification of the vaccination scheme in Cuba for said disease.

In addition, the certificate complies with the standards adopted by the European Union and recommendations issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), giving the possibility of being verified by some foreign entities.

The digitalization of the immunization process already covers 80% of the vaccinated population with the complete immunization schedule, so this service can be considered as a test. This information is supported by the Andariego Vida computer system, which constitutes the official registry of vaccination in our country, covering in a centralized manner the process of capturing the vaccinated population.

The CuVac19 verifier can be downloaded from the Cuban application repository APKLIS, which will be used to enable the verification of the QR code of the digital certificate in institutions, entities or premises requesting a vaccination certificate. The verification process is performed by reading and decoding the QR code of the certificate, which contains the vaccination data registered by the National Public Health System.

In some cases the service will not generate the certificate, this means that, although the subject has already been vaccinated, his/her data have not been completed in the digitalization process. In this situation, the user should go to the Department of Attention to the Population of the Health Area where he/she received his/her vaccination schedule and request that his/her information be digitalized.

It is essential to present the official vaccination card (model 84-21-02a) and your identity document to initiate the application process.

This process may take up to seven days and the applicant will be notified by telephone. Once the process is completed, the applicant will be able to enter the service again to obtain his or her digital vaccination certificate.

Procedure: Office of Attention to the Population in the Health Area.

It will attend to the people who request the service of digitalization of their vaccination data and will follow up until the completion of the process.

Record the following data: Full name, ID card number, age, sex, contact telephone number, date of each dose administered and place where vaccination was administered (for this purpose, the vaccination card that the person requesting the service must present will be used).

The individual information of each applicant will be given to the person in charge of the Department of Medical Records and Health Statistics of the polyclinic in order to initiate the process.

Inform the applicant that the system has 7 days to complete the process.

If the certification of the vaccination is completed before the end of the seven days, the applicant will be notified by telephone.
