Havana, Mar 14 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel described his country's foreign policy on Tuesday as effective, rigorous, committed, prestigious, ethical and a world reference.
In a meeting with members of the island's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take stock of the results achieved during 2022, Díaz-Canel highlighted the role of Cuban diplomacy during more than six decades of hard struggle for the Revolution.
According to a local television report, the head of state called for the work in the economic sphere to be stepped up in political relations, using proactive and innovative proposals.
He also urged to strengthen solidarity, that trait that distinguishes the island internationally, and to consolidate links with people around the world who have made the defence of the Caribbean nation their own.
The president denounced that, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the United States showed its perversity, arrogance and cruelty by denying Cuba access to medicines, vaccines, oxygen and lung ventilators.
He also stressed that in the last few days the fallacy of the sonic attacks against US diplomats in Havana had been demolished, to which the work carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in conjunction with other international organisations contributed.
