DECLARATION OF THE BASOTHO ALUMNI GRADUATED IN THE REPUBLIC OF CUBA.

The non- aligned movement and the reform of the international relations were formed in the year 1961 and Lesotho is one of the member countries. Lesotho then established the relationship with the Republic of Cuba.

Since February 1962, United States proclaimed an embargo on trade against Cuba, in response to certain actions taken by the Cuban government and directed the departments of commerce and the treasury to implement the embargo which remains in place today.

Lesotho remains one of the countries which condemned the blockage against Cuba. Lots of Basotho benefit culturally, socio-economically from Cuba and is still sending students to benefit educationally from the Cuba

The foreign policy of this island has benefitted the international community a great deal, especially underdeveloped country in África, Asia, Latin America and some Europe countries in different especiality of higher education such as: Medicine, Sports, Journalism, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Construction, etc.

Taken in consideration that Cuba is a sovereign country, we are requesting this blockade to come to an end forthwith.
