A Cuban Delegation from the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) is attending this week the Mongolia "Mining Week x MinePro 2024" International Mining Exhibition & Convention in Ulaanbaatar.
The events are jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia and the Mongolian National Mining Association.
The Delegation is comprised of Mr. Jorge Hernandez Pavón, Director of the GEOMINSAL Centro Business Group, Mr. Juan Carlos Rivero Colas, official of the Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines and Mr. Jorge Ferrer, Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia.
The opening statement of the event was delivered by the Chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia, Mr. Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve. Also the Chairman of the Board of the Mongolian National Mining Association, the Deputy Prime Minister, Dorjkhand Togmid and the Ministers of Industry and Mineral and of Environment and Climate Change spoke during the first sesión.
The Delegation is meeting Mongolian and Foreign entrepreneurs that supply technologies and equipments for the mining sector.
It also met earlier with the Deputy Director General for International Trade and Economic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Mrs. Zolzaya, as well as with the acting chief of the Deparment of Foreign Cooperation of Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Ms. B.Battsetseg
Mongolia's mineral resources industry stands as the backbone of its economy contributing over 25% to GDP, more than 30% to the state's general budget revenue about 73% to foreign direct investment and over 92% to total exports.
