At the mayor's office in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Deputy Chief of Mission Alejandro García del Toro met with Melvin Carter, mayor of the city, with whom he exchanged on the social and economic realities of Saint Paul and Cuba, on relations between Cuba and the United States and on potential cooperation actions between the Saint Paul authorities and Cuban institutions.
Vice-consul Tatiana Martínez, the internationally renowned Cuban pianist Nachito Herrera, his producer Aurora Herrera and his daughter Mirdalys Herrera participated in the meeting. Members of the Committee for Solidarity with Cuba in Minnesota and city commissioners also participated.
During the meeting, a wreath was placed on the bust of our apostle José Martí located in the City Hall of the city of Saint Paul.
