The first Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Ambassador Ana Teresita González Fraga, met with a group of Cubans living in the United Kingdom during an official visit to that country.
During the meeting, held at the Residency of the island's Ambassador to London, the high official praised the role played by Cubans living abroad in the defense of the homeland. González also highlighted their support for the struggle to lift the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
The Ambassador held this meeting as part of a busy work schedule during her tour to Central Asian and European countries. Coming from Uzbekistan, and after an intense day of official talks, González highlighted the importance of this meeting among Cubans, at times like these- when Cuba is involved in a national dialogue following the Constitution project, a debate in which Cuban residents abroad also take part.
The meeting was attended by the Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Teresita Vicente Sotolongo, as well as many of the diplomatic staff accredited in the United Kingdom.
Ana Teresita González Fraga was recently granted the rank of lifelong Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, honor shared only with Josefina Vidal, current Cuban Ambassador to Canada.
After the visit to the United Kingdom, González continued her trip to Iceland and Ireland, in a tour that aims to strengthen the political dialogue, exchange and cooperation of the Caribbean island with several Asian and European countries.
