Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. October 18, 2018. At the Government Palace of Mongolia the Hon. Mr. Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, received today the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Raúl Delgado Concepción, in a meeting in which they reviewed the states of bilateral relations between both countries, as well as the possibilities to continue raising the level in them in the spheres of public health, education, culture and sports, and other opportunities for cooperation.
The Ambassador of Cuba conveyed to the Deputy Prime Minister Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin the gratitude of the Cuban government and people for the continued support of Mongolia in the battle waged by Cuba against the criminal blockade imposed by the United States since 1960. The Ambassador indicated that next October 31 will be held again, for the twenty-seventh consecutive time, within the framework of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the vote on the draft Cuban resolution condemning this policy, in which the world will once again support the Cuban people in their just struggle for their complete elimination.
The meeting also addressed the progress of Cuba in terms of management in the face of natural disasters and the experience accumulated by the Civil Defense in protecting the population and material resources. The Deputy Prime Minister was interested in the Cuban experience in this field and the possibilities of cooperation.
In the meeting were addressed other aspects of bilateral relations such as high-level visits, student exchange, tourism, and the preparation of athletes in judo, wrestling, and boxing before the next Olympic Games in Tokyo. This will constitute the preamble of the celebration in 2020 of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin reiterated to the Cuban Ambassador the invitation of the Government of Mongolia to the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, to visit Mongolia.
