Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba concludes visit to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis
Basseterre, September 20, 2023: On Tuesday afternoon, after a four-day visit to St. Kitts, the Cuban delegation headed by the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, who attended the commemorations for the 40th anniversary of the independence of this Federation, returned to Havana.
The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister, in an exchange with the Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, expressed his satisfaction at being in this sister nation, while conveying an invitation from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel to visit Cuba.
At another point during his stay, he met with his counterpart, the Deputy Prime Minister Honorable Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, with whom he exchanged views on several topics of common interest, among which higher education stands out.
During both meetings, Perdomo Di-Lella expressed his gratitude for the historical support shown to Cuba by the government of this Federation, in the face of the unjust embargo to which its people are subjected.
On another occasion, the Cuban leader had the opportunity to meet with members of the St. Kitts and Nevis-Cuba friendship associations, comprised of a representation of those who have studied in Cuba and some of the Cuban nationals currently residing in St. Kitts, from whom he received many signs of affection.
At the end, the Cuban delegation had a warm meeting with the Cuban collaborators in Health and Sports who work in the Federation. Mr. Jorge Luis Perdomo took the opportunity to convey special congratulations to the members of the Medical Brigade for their excellent performance and recognition.
The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Gustavo Daniel Véliz Olivares, Director of Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Dr. Marcia Cobas Ruiz, member of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers, and resident Cuban Ambassador David Rivero Pérez.
